Acorn Pie 🥧 with Walnuts and Apples.
Here is a recipe for Acorn Pie with Walnuts and Apples.
1. Ingredients for the dough:
- 125 g of flour,
- 125 g of acorn flour,
- 125 g of butter,
- 115 g of sugar,
- 10g vanilla sugar,
- pinch of salt,
- 1 egg.
2. Ingredients for the filling:
- 280 g of walnuts,
- 50 g of butter,
- 125 g of sugar,
- 2 egg yolks,
- 2 egg whites,
- a little cinnamon
- grated rind of 1/2 lemon,
- 2 tablespoons of sour cream,
- approx. 4 apples.
3. Preparation:
Sift both flours, and add the butter cut into pieces, which are rubbed into the flour with your hands.
Make a hole in the middle of the mixture, add sugar, vanilla sugar, a pinch of salt, and a beaten egg. Then knead the dough.
When you are done let the dough rest for about an hour in a cold place.
In the meantime prepare the filling. In the bowl mix the butter, sugar, and egg yolks until foamy, then add cinnamon, lemon peel, sour cream, walnuts, and finally the egg white snow
Fill the dough with a walnut filling and place apples on top, which can be sprinkled with cinnamon if desired.
Bake in a heated oven at 200°C approx. 20 minutes.
